Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (LAPD)
Link
Did anyone else catch this week's episode of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition?
I like that show, and I have to admit that this week's episode really hit home for me. They featured a brave female officer and her husband, both LAPD officers, who needed some assistance after she was shot in the line of duty, leaving her paralyzed.
It was a very touching episode for me, and my wife as well. I often tease my wife for turning on the water works when we watch the show, but this week was different. We both teared up a bit.
For those who haven't seen it, check out the website. ABC did a lot for these two officers and the show was very tastefully done.
I was impressed by the positive light that the show shined on the brave men and women of the LAPD, and other LEOs across America. It was also nice to see the support of their department and their community.

If anyone knows these two officers, please pass along my best wishes for them and let them know that I have said a prayer for them.
Then invite them to join the site.

I had to work, and my request to have it on our tv's was denied. Not "special" enough.

That was very touching. I too like the show, but last night was very well done. I teared up several times, and the out ouring and support from the community and the Dept was so very impressive. Made me almost want to run out and join the LAPD.

Loved it when LAPD SWAT did the demolish.
"Somewhere a True Believer is training to kill you.
He is training with minimum food or water, in austere conditions, day and night.
The only thing clean on him is his weapon.
He doesn't worry about what workout to do---his rucksack weighs what it weighs, and he runs until the enemy stops chasing him.
The True Believer doesn't care "how hard it is"; he knows he either wins or he dies.
He doesn't go home at 1700; he is home.
He knows only the Cause.
Now, who wants to quit?"

I caught the last hour or so of it. Very well done episode, yep and almost had to go for the kleenex a few times.
There’s a promise I need you to make
While I’m gone you take care of the love
And I’ll deal with the hate.
Don’t worry about me; I’ll be all right
Just care for your children and sleep tight
I’ll keep you safe on my watch tonight

That is really awsome.

We dallied under
Vine maples and sapling alders
Searched for lady slippers
But instead
Found blackberry riots and
Desiccated branches
An old skid road
Brought ghost ferns and
Hollows filled with
Skunk cabbage
While waves wrapped
Intricate lacings of weeds
'Round mule spinners
His cyanotic eyes
Were hard enough to make
The sun turn tail and
Tender enough to attract me
To his world of illusion

They need to do a damn replay of the episode.

If this was very recent, I missed it because I never fail to watch it!
I know that it was supposed to be shown in Dec '06 but cut at the last moment. I have been waiting till they replay it and the show is here in the Midwest on sundays at 6 or 7 PM depending on how many hours shown. I believe this was supposed to be a two hour show. I hope they put it on tomorrow night as I would really love to see it, it DOES more than tear me up ! You guys are not old enough and retired long enough to understand YET !!
Take care and be safe out there ALL !! Cover over each others calls and car stops !!
