NFL Playoffs- Week 2 (Divisional Playoff)
Considering I usually pick'em right, and I'm undefeated in my playoff picks, who better to tell you how to bet your money in Vegas this weekend, than yours truly. Sooo, here we go:
Indianapolis Colts vs. Baltimore Ravens
I went with the Ravens, though I feel this could go either way. For the Colts to win, they'll need a perfect game from Peyton Manning, and the Colts offensive line needs to block. Otherwise, the Ravens should take this in a close one.
Philadelphia Eagles vs. New Orleans Saints
These two teams played during the regular season (in October), with the Saints winning on a last second field goal. From 2000-2005, there have been eight times when a playoff game featured a rematch from the regular-season, and the winner of the regular-season game was 8-0 in the playoffs. Joe Horn may not play, which would be a huge loss for the Saints. However, New Orleans offense and defense will be too much for the resurgent Eagles. I expect an emotionally charged New Orleans crowd.
Seattle Seahawks vs. Chicago Bears
These teams met in October, with the Bears winning 37-6 on a Sunday night in Chicago. Shaun Alexander did not play in that game. Even with Alexander, I expect the Bears defense to be too much for the Seahawks. The Bears aren't exactly the Cowgirls.
Patriots vs. Chargers
In my opinion, the winner of this will go to the Super Bowl, and possibly win it all. This was my hardest pick. Either team could win. The Chargers have a better team, but New England is a good team and can never be counted out of a playoff game. The Chargers have an inexperienced QB in Phillip Rivers, and the Patriots have the best QB in the history of the NFL playoffs in Tom Brady. For the Patriots to win, they have to handle Tomlinson and find a way to block San Diego's blitzes. One thing in the Patriots' favor is that Brady is comfortable in the shotgun, and he can use that formation to see the blitz better. For San Diego, the key is that they must do a good job blocking New England's vastly underrated front seven. This will be the best match of this week, in my opinion. I am going to take the underdog Patriots.
