Female Comics
No offense to our lady friends, I am not sexist and I certainly do not want the better half of the species pissed off at me............but why is it that female stand-up comics are not funny? All they ever talk about are periods, why they hate men, shopping and why they hate men. Maybe it's just me, but that stuff really turns me off and it's not funny.

Lisa Lampanelli(not sure of spelling), she is on Howard Stern now and then and cracks me up.

My wife loves Ellen Degenerous (or how ever the hell you spell her name). Stand up and I can't see why. Pesonally I hate the woman (for more than one reason) and she's not funny even a little bit. Kathleen Madigen is apparently one of the biggest female comics right now and I haven't laughed at one of her bits. I'm sure there maybe a couple out there but I have't heard of any yet. I'm going to check out that one beans suggested just to see.
12 hours, 6124 casts, 2 follows, and 1 strike. I sure hope tomorrow is this good.

Speaking as an estrogen carrier, I agree. Most of the female stand up comics suck. Even on Whose Line Is It Anyway, if a chick is on I just about change the channel right then.

Well ‘grasshoppers,’ it is because of nature.
Man, having to compete for female companionship (sex) is accustomed to using humor among other traits to attract his mate. While women, on the other hand, hold a strong advantage over the primal agenda, and have no need to be funny. They only need to be female.
So, you see, it is very elementary.
OK, I'm guessing here, but it sounds good right?

The funniest female I know is my wife. That's because she tells me so.

And Shepards we shall be,
for thee, My Lord, for thee,
Power hath descended forth from Thy hand,
That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy Command.
So we shall flow a river forth to Thee
And teeming with souls will it ever be.

What about Kathy Griffen? I believe thats her name. She is funny as hell. She's always talking about other celebs., swears like a sailor, and talks about sex. So not the typical female comic.

Yes, Lisa Lampanelli is hilarious. I am a huge Howard Stern fan and have heard and seen her many times. If you want another funny female, check out Jessica Kirson....she is better than Lampanelli.

I think she's funny, too. Have you seen her show on Comedy Central? I saw the first episode and thought it was pretty good.
Lisa Lampanelli is hilarious, other than that I can't think of other comediennes that I like. I can't stand Kathy Griffin - to me, she's the equivalent of Andy Dick, and I can't stand him either.Last edited by Buttercup; 02-10-07 at 09:31 AM.

I think Lisa Lampanelli is about the only exception I can think of off hand. Otherwise if I see a female comic performing i hardly laugh. Just not funny.
