Gulf Coast "Bizarre Foods"
I don't know if anyone but me watches this show on the Travel Channel, but tonight's episode takes place on the Gulf Coast. Normally he's outside of the U.S. This guy eats some highly unusual things.
"Andrew is putting the top down as he takes a slow cruise across America's Gulf Coast in hopes of filling up on everything from pig guts to water rodents and raccoons. It's a journey filled with soul and seasoned with Cajun favorites."

As long as it was safe to eat, I'd try horse tartare, it's just meat. And I'd try the guinea pig too, as long as someone hadn't named it Fluffy or anything first.

[QUOTE=Resident Smart Ass;176541] I agree with you, I could hardly watch it.
For some reason, this didn't bother me though. What say you, Norm? Could you do it?

I can't say that any of those items are among those that I choose to incorporate into my regular diet, however, far be it from me to call them weird. Let's just say that as a Yankee, I may have less of an appreciation for traditional Gulf Coast cuisine as someone born and raised in that area.
I've had chitterlings but I've not had nutria, beaver, or raccoon. Or possum.

I'll try anything once as well, the only thing that gave me pause was the nutria. And as for the coon - if they were that smart they wouldn't get caught.
If my upcoming weekend plans don't change, I'll be having bison and ostrich for dinner. I've had ostrich a few times, but never bison. This restaurant is the same place I had kangaroo.
