I've never been to a gumbo "party" and I always thought cypress trees had to grow in a swampy area not your front lawn
.
I will watch it and hope it gets better...the story line is too cliche'

Not sure its gonna make it.........the action jumps around to much and the guy goes from criminal to cop? Didnt the one guy turn his back on his last partner because he left? At least he didnt do time in the joint! Was really hoping for more but looks like the best of the show was the build up for it.

I've been places, seen and done things that would make most cry. I've fought along side and against better men then most I come across day to day, i've put my life on the line more then once for things you take for granted and for those you have lost respect for. I don't tell you this for your pity or respect but for you to remember me.

Personally,I watched the preview on the internet, and knew better.
These idiot writers spend a night in N.O. (or anywhere else in La.) and think they know the lingo, accents etc..
Huhlloo,it dont work that way, stop with the freakin accents, stop trying to inject a word you heard(Gumbo) ,and try making it a "generic" cop show that happens to be in La.Dont try to use the name of every famous street, hotel, and restaurant, that you have ever heard of in every episode.
I have been to N.Y. and I have been to L.A.,when I watch t.v. it doesn't have to include a mention of Flatbush Ave. or Mullholland dr.,It could be John Doe ave for all I care.
OK rant over,to answer the question, the sooner it goes away, the sooner this region has 1 less thing to be embarresed about.

mavriktu, you so hit it with the unrestrainable desires of the writers to try to include every famous/infamous place they have ever read about, and include it in the show.
I watched it for the first time last night, just to see what all the local complaints were about. It wasn't that bad, but, I do see it being short lived.
Please get this New Orleans based embarrassement off the air.
They also need a new camera man, my eight year old could do better.
As for cypress trees..... I had them everywhere in my yard when I lived in Destrehan. Can't play football cause of all the damned cypress knees. If the grass is always greener on the other side, stop pissing on yours.

Any cop show that has a "reformed" criminal playing a good guy, is so far removed from reality that I wouldn't even consider wayching it.
For the morning will come. Brightly will it shine on the brave and true, kindly upon all who suffer for the cause, glorious upon the tombs of heroes. Thus will shine the dawn.

But he served in the Army......so doesnt that count for anything! Decided to give the second episode a chance and still not getting a warm and fuzzy.
But we all know that no matter if we think it sucks or not we will still watch it because we are cops........and we are guys! Car chases, shooting, a hot woman here and there and just the thought of having a double shot while working just puts us in the mood. Hey say what you want I cant lie!Si vis pacem, para bellum

That was a hole, to be sure. The army would have run his prints on enlistment, and I'm pretty sure y'all fingerprint your crooks just the way we do. Even if the great flood washed away the his records, it didn't reach the FBI database.
As for the girls, guns, and car chases - Tim has a point.I'm your huckleberry...

This show has potential...
....as the worst cop show ever? I admit it, I've kept up on it, mostly just to see how much even I could find wrong with it, and well, wow.
By my count so far we have two murders unreported by the main characters, one convict as a cop, one cop lying for his convict partner, through that same lie one cop is meant to have pocketed 21 grand to give to his mistress and his chief looked the other way, this same chief has already been seconds away from murdering a suspect to cover for his prostitute girlfriend, oh, and the convict is the moral one, the "honest cop" (this being the one who lies for his convict partner and forgot to report a murder) drinks on duty and has a dead felon brother who he covered up one of the aforementioned murders.
And this is just the first five episodes.
What'd I forget?

Being a native of New Orleans, I've seen more than enough of the town to watch it on T.V.
They could use true stories from NOPD and would have more drama, sex, action, and dirt than their fiction writers could ever imagine, imho.

Show is a bust and I haven't watched one episode. One ride along with NOPD and all of those writers would haul ass from NO and never come back.

I gave up on this about 3/4 through the first episode. It was just a bit off and couldn't hold my interest
