Get Smart!

Just got back from seeing this, and it was not only very funny, but some really intense action sequences too!

If you ever watched the t.v. show, there are lot's of tribute bits, as well as some other movie homages.

I think there was maybe one cuss word (not the f-bomb), and my 12 year old thought it was hysterical also, so it's pretty kidlet safe.

I think Steve Carrell really nailed the bumbling side of Maxwell Smart, but also made him competent, and very likable.

Newsweek said it was terrible and a bad idea to try to make Maxwell Smart less of a bumbling moron (like the tv show) and more like James Bond. That being said, I don't subscribe to Newsweek for their movie reviews. They probably gave Cool As Ice starring Vanilla Ice a bad review, as well. Idiots. They wouldn't know good acting if it was waiting in the parking lot to give them hepatitis. Which it will be in 5 minutes. Count me in on Get Smart.

I never saw the TV show, and can't compare them, but the movie was hilarious. Non-stop laughs. I'll probably get it on DVD when it comes out.

Wow!! never saw the TV show? You really should get a copy of a few episodes. You can pick up the entire series on DVD now. Don Adams was a very, very funny man...and a hardcore Marine in WW2 at Guadalcanal (interesting story if anyone wants to research him)
