Some of you may remember That I had posted about a Jefferson Parish Deputy that was killed in the line of duty. His name was Joshua Norris and he had been one of the officers followed for the show. The film crews had left shortly before he was killed. A special show willl air on Nov 4,2008 about him.

This is the first I've heard about this show but it looks like it might be worth checking out. Thanks for the heads up...

Actually had a chance to watch TV last night and caught it. My son and I checked it out. I'm gonna try and catch it on a regular basis.

It was a fairly decent show. It did not have the staged feel that I expected it to have. I will likely watch it when I am off.

From a civi POV -
Whether your entire exposure to LE is a detour through Mayberry USA or, worse, you think you know something, it's easy to follow what's going on and relate. Everyone's had a first day on a job. Most everyone has made a mess of a first day on some job. It's very "approachable" that way - which bodes well for it being a learning experience for the casual viewer.

Probably not going to go way out of my way for it, but it was decent. The thing I kind of question is how you train the rook with a camera crew (most ass chewings shouldn't be public!) around...

I don't think the one guy (AJ Carfaro) feels to good about how badly he did on the job, on camera, for the entire world to see. I felt bad for him but like his Sgt. said some find out they're not cut out for this job.
I remember my first day on the job. I remember FTO. I'm not perfect and made some mistakes but I swear I never made like he did. Nor did I get the FTO twin switch pulled on me either.Romans 8:28-31

Watched it and of course it was a very sad show. I do enjoy watching it and as a shift trainer, understand those poor rookies, so much thrown at them at one time. But as I say, sink or swim, baby..................

I finally got a chance to watch it last night, ya know, with the Shield being over and all.
I liked it, good show.
I found myself evauating them as the show went on. To the general public, it's an entertaining show. To us, it's a great reminder on things we may be complacent on. Good refresher."Like" us on facebook! https://www.facebook.com/pages/Offic...93147194083228
