I'm picking Chargers over Colts (LT is healthy and Indy is again struggling v. the run); Ravens over Dolphins, Ravens D is just too suffocating; Falcons over Cards, Turner is going to run all day; Eagles over Vikes, close one, but T Jackson will lose it for them facing a solid secondary...

Brad, I never thought I'd say this, but I agree with all of your picks. Who you got in the Super Bowl? Gimme Indy and the MF-ing New York F-ing Giants. With Indy winning.
FYI, I saw on the ESPN ticker while I was on the treadmill that Indy has only given up 6 passing TDs all year. That, my friends, is insane. Consider that the Cardinals gave up 6 passing TDs IN ONE GAME against the Jets. Zoinks!

I'm still excited about the 49'ers (winning 4 out of there last 5 with Mike Singletary as there new coach to close the season). Next year they have a shot to win the division I believe.
I'm excited about my home team, the Panthers, who will be a HUGE threat for the Giants in the NFC Championship (crosses fingers). Hell, the Panthers would have beat the Giants in there match up during the regular season, if not for John Kasay missing a 50 yard field goal at the end of regulation.
I am also highly pissed that New England, who played remarkably well considering Tom Brady was out for the season, will miss the playoffs after going 11-5. I find it particularly stupid when you have teams winning 8 or 9 games and getting in.

you bring up a good point about the 49ers. I remember telling a co-worker after Singletary's first game and subsequent rant that I would'nt wanna face that team the rest of the year. He brings to the table exactly what my embarassment of a franchise Cowboys lack: heart. Give him a bunch of B- players, and he may inspire them to perform at a B+ level. Whereas on the other hand you have Wade Phillips. He was given a roster of A+ talent and he let the herd lead themselves off a cliff to a C- season. I would be really suprised if we saw January 5th come with Wade still having a job and Mike Shanahan not setting up an office at Valley Ranch.
The Panthers are pretty damn good...I hope they beat the balls off the Giants. F them.Last edited by Bob Loblaw; 12-30-08 at 10:06 PM. Reason: i worded the last couple of sentences very oddly

This just in today:
Two days after a loss to the San Diego Chargers completed one of the greatest collapses in NFL history, the Denver Broncos have fired head coach Mike Shanahan.
Adam Schefter of NFL Network reports that Shanahan was fired today despite having three years and $20 million left on his contract.
Shanahan, who has won two Super Bowl rings in Denver, was the longest-serving coach in franchise history, had a close relationship with owner Pat Bowlen and was thought to be untouchable. But apparently collapsing over the final weeks of the season was too much for even Shanahan to survive.
The 2008 Broncos are the first team in NFL history to have a three-game lead in their division with three weeks to play and end up missing the playoffs.

You have packed alot of football topics into one post Term. First the Pats. Holy frikken crap we go 11-5 and don't make the playoffs while SD at 8-8 gets the 4th seed?!?!?!?! I'm still pissed after trying to calm down for a couple days. Good hell. And all we had to do was stop Brett Favre on 3rd and 15 in OT And we'd have gone 12-4 and won the division. That being said we played damn good considering we played without the best QB in the NFL and were missing our top Defensive players. I guarantee once the Jets realized they had no shot they stopped trying so we wouldn't go, and this is the second time Favre has done that to us. Oh well, always next year.
Second, I've been calling the Panthers since week 5 to be NFC favorites. I'm not sold at all on the Giants, and especially now after the turmoil the team is in. I'd love to see the Panthers win it all this year, and they have a solid shot to make it.
Third the 49ers have a decent team and play in the league's weakest division. Singeltary with an offseason of prep will have that team whipped into shape. He also probably knows better then to call out his injured QB in front of the team and make him look stupid. Still can't believe Nolan did that...RIP Sarah Noll~11-8-87 to 4-17-08

Yeah, I agree. The Pats tied for the 6th best record in the league, and they didn't make the playoffs, made up of 12 teams. It just isn't fair. Not when the 8-8 Charges are in, the 9-6 Eagle are in, the 10-6 Vikings are in, and the 9-7 Cardinals are in. Never mind the other three 11-5 teams which made it in.
I hope Brett Favre retires. I don't like him, and never have.
