Dallas Cowboys officially release Terrell Owens
IRVING, Texas (AP)—Jerry Jones made it clear, both in action and words: Getting rid of Terrell Owens means a fresh start for the Dallas Cowboys.
T.O. was released Thursday, ending a three-year run that produced as many big headlines as big plays. Many of those headlines were about ego and attitude, and Jones has decided enough is enough. He wants the focus on winning, something the Cowboys haven’t done in the playoffs since 1996.
“In the aftermath of the season, we talked about change,” Jones said in a statement. “Some of what is changing involves the process and some of it involves people. This is a decision that was made based upon consideration for an entire team.
“We will move on now with a new team—a new attitude—and into a new stadium. The evaluation process and the prospect for change will continue at every level of the organization.”
Owens released a statement on his Web site thanking Jones, coach Wade Phillips and the organization “for the opportunity to be a member of the team for the past three years.”
ProFootballTalk.com is keeping a list of teams that have made it known to them through "league sources" that they have no interest in Owens. As of right now, that list includes:The Dallas Cowboys.And the Eagles and Dolphins are listed as teams that are expected to join the list soon. Donovan McNabb and Bill Parcells are the president and vice president of the "Terrell Owens Deserves a Giant Wedgie Club."
The New York Giants.
The Washington Redskins.
The Baltimore Ravens.
The San Francisco 49ers.
The Minnesota Vikings.
The Atlanta Falcons.
The Cleveland Browns.
The San Diego Chargers.
The Philadelphia Eagles.
The New York Jets.
The Tennessee Titans.
The St. Louis Rams.
But there are no real surprises there, except maybe a couple of mild ones. The Redskins are always worth mentioning whenever an expensive free agent is available, and the Vikings wanted T.J. Houshmandzadeh badly, but whiffed. I guess they're only in the market for sane receivers.

Owens is clueless..... Any team would be crazy to pick him up, good player but he is not worth it.

Im interested to see what team thinks hes worth picking up. Personally I would leave him alone, his mouth isn't worth what he provides on the field.

I don't think they play any dirtier then any other team in the league. They just go out and do their jobs and WIN GAMES!!! Besides I have allways been a fan. MY first football coach, my cousin and my stepfather all played for the Steelers in the late 70's and early 80's. I really tried to be a Bengals fan and support the home team.... But after this last debacle what is left to support???? Until Mr. Magoo and his family decides to step back and allow football people to manage the team, they won't do crap!!! I just say a blurb in the Miami Herald where 14 teams have officially stated they were NOT interested in T.O. in any way!!! If he really wants to play it looks like he is going to have to take whatever is presented to him or sit out the season.

if he was having a hard time catching passes from tony romo whos a complete gunslinger in a pass happy offense, wait til he has to rely on trent edwards and the Bills run first offense to get him the ball. the guy didnt throw for 300 yds once last year. TO is gonna ruin this young qb.

T.O. will ruin Edwards and the Bills. Surprised an old school franchise like the Bills would take this chance. This team is a few players away from contending for the play-offs. This signing is a step back for them,,poison for any team,,,,,fits in with the Raiders though. Wish he would have stayed with the Cryboys longer,,,buried that team even more. HERE WE GO STEELERS HERE WE GO!!
