I too am trying to lose a pretty large amount of weight. I keep starting and then end up falling off the bandwagon. Hopefully this time I can stay on. I am slowly working my way into exercise and trying to change my diet. It isn't easy but I have finally told myself I have to do something about it.
I am trying to lose weight to drop my cholestoral. I'mn 5'9 and 228lbs. Dr. says I need to be down to 175lbs. Yeah, not happening. I'm shooting for 185-190.
I dont know if you have a smart phone. If you do, download this app called MyFitnessPal. Start tracking everything you eat. It gives you a certain goal of calories. We need approximately 2050 calories a day just to function. You will be surprised how much more we really do eat. The app will set a goal for you. (Mine was 1410 calories a day) and you will start losing weight fast!!!. Someone else stated 5 small meals a day... Right on target too. 5 small meals a day keeps your metabolism fired up. Even when you sleep, your metabolism is burning excess calories. I used both methods above and I went from 198 in January to 174 two months later and have kept it off. Excercise is good too, but if you are out of shape, it can be a turn off, but if you lose the weight by watching calories, you will feel more energetic and will want to go running, biking and other stuff.
