Commercially Soccer is not such a big thing in the US but I think a lot of immigrants and college students follow it. I know there are parts of the city where they have to beef up patrol coverage around this time, Queens especially, has a lot of So Americans who go nuts after the games when their homeland is represented. I was down in lower Manhattan yesterday and all the Bars were jammed with spectators. Was nice seeing people walking around waving American Flags too.
Not much of a soccer fan so whether the Brits beat us in the game really does not matter, because we already won, we have a President and not a Queen. Also, none of us speak with those funky Brit' Accent. Right Mate! LOL! Sorry Motorwaycop, could not resist, had to mention the Revolution, not a game but a fight that our Forefathers won for the freedoms we have today.

Lol.There’s a promise I need you to make
While I’m gone you take care of the love
And I’ll deal with the hate.
Don’t worry about me; I’ll be all right
Just care for your children and sleep tight
I’ll keep you safe on my watch tonight

i love the world cup
im a sports fan, all sports...plus ill get behind anything sports related when the USA is involved. i also played college soccer and rugby. football (our football, with hitting and tackiling and stuff) is still my favorite sport by far, but i really enjoy watching world class professional soccer in jammed packed arenas where the crowd is going apeshit.
go USA!in the warriors code there's no surrender, though his body says stop, his spirit cries...NEVER. deep in our souls, a quiet ember, knows its you against you, its the paradox that drives us all. its a battle of wills, in the heat of attack, its the passion that kills, and victory is yours alone.
