Hill Street Blues

Hill Street Blues was the greatest! I miss that show..........can't find the re-runs anywhere! Anyone know if they are on any of the cable channels and what night? I don't buy TV Guide and I'm too impatient to watch the Preview Channel......that little scrolling thing doesn't move fast enough and it gets smaller every week while the bolemic dimwit up top takes up more and more room trying to sell you some majic weight loss lotion made out of bat droppings only found in a remote African jungle for three easy payments of nine thousand DOLLARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!AAAARG HHH...........I need a vacation.....:lalala:

My dad used to watch that show when I was younger. He then moved to In The Heat of The Night.

I have not seen or heard where it is playing. If I find out I will let you know.

Ah a classic. Howard the SWAT Commander was my hero. Especially when he bought the Tank as an entry weapon. :)

You can find the DVD's there as well. That station was on the south side, it was the old Maxwell st Station, it has been lost, due to yuppie regentrification of the neighborhood there. You used to be able to pick up a place there for in the upper 80's low 100's, granted you weren't far from the projects, and the old Maxwell St flea market (as seen in the blues brothers where Aretha Franklin was a waitress/owner of the chicken joint). Now if you can get a place for under 400k you are doing good.

I also really liked Hill Street. They were running it on Bravo for a while but it stopped. Franks psycho ex wife was typical in those days. Beat the hell out of 21 jump street.

Hill Street who?? I think I heard of this, but I think I'm not quite as old as the rest of you!:ban: Just Kidding. I heard of it but never watched it!

The pilot was excellent and the first year was good. It started to deteriorate after the woman defense attorney became more of a prominent character. It then went to shit when she got romantically involved with the captain. It quite being realistic and became more of a soap opera.

I remember one episode where the bitch defense attorney ripped a report out of the typewriter of a detective. If that had happened in real life, she'd have been french kissing the linoleum. Everyone cowered in fear when she walked through. In my dept., she'd have never been allowed to even come in. That irritated the shit out of me every time I saw her come into a scene.

Up until then, I liked it. The cops were pretty realistic and I could just about identify each of the characters with, if not one person I worked with, but at least a composite.

I thought she was an Assistant District Attorney? :noidea:

I love the show and still do.

The second season just came out a few weeks ago on DVD.

It was the first show I remember watching on a regular basis when I was little.

Nope, she was defense.

Joyce Davenport. She was a Public Defender.

Her and Frank Furillo were in the sack together from the pilot, though it took a few seasons for it to come out.

...David Caruso (I might have his name wrong. The redhead guy from NYPD Blue and CSI Miami) played the leader of one of the street gangs on the Hill. The gang was called the Shamrocks.

My favorite charactor was Belker, the scruffy little UC that bit people.
