Did anyone catch the new show "Commander Castle" on A&E last night? I was interested in your opinion on the show. It was a pilot episode, and I am not sure if the network is going to make it a regular show or not. I have trained with Paul Castle and his stuff is really good; I liked the show.
yeah, it was pretty cool.
It's interesting how he'll switch the pistol from one hand to the other as he negotiates corners. I don't think I've ever seen anyone do that...
I was watching the second episode while I got ready to go to work....before that I watched the first episode....
I like that guy. He rocks.

I have been thru his CAR system training. It is now my preferred shooting technique. Paul is a really cool guy, and he really knows his stuff.
They showed part of a shooting drill that we had to do, which was hard as hell. You had to make entry into the "room" and shooter one started the line and the rest of us had to follow the directed sequence of fire (which changed). When the last guy in the room fired his sequence, he yelled clear and we reversed the shooting sequence. To add to the confusion, shooter 3 had two targets to address. When the drill was over, we had to egress and start over. It is hard to explain, but cool to see done properly, especially after you have done it and can appreciate how difficult it is. We screwed up a lot and had to exercise a lot because of it. It was very mentally and somewhat physically challenging.
If anyone gets a chance to attend his training, I would highly recommend it.
One comes to appreciate the simplicity of the Glock when one must feild strip it and reassemble it 20x while doing extended sit ups. Loss of fine motor skills, physical and mental stress become a factor when doing these exercises. The guys with Sigs, HKs and other really fancy weapons were wishing they had a Glock for its simple design and lack of parts to loose off of their chest and into the grass.Quote:

I thought it was a good show. I cracked up when he taped the mouse up on the dry erase board. That was messed up. haha
I liked the gun retention and elbowing, etc.
I would definately would take a course with him. Mind you, I'd be working my abs long beforehand!! And hopefully I wouldn't have to completely strip down my S&W to pulling out the firing pin.
Yup, the S&W would be a bitch....
