sorry it's taken me so long to reply, i've been out hiking in the great smoky mountains all weekend. i got arrested for minor in possession of alcohol when i was eighteen and have to get a waiver signed to be submitted to the post certification board. memphis doesn't assign the waiver's anymore so i have to find a smaller local department to grant me the waiver. then i could either lateral transfer in, or just reapply for the waiver will follow me for life.
now why maine? my family has a summer cabin on great pond in belgrade just outside of waterville. that place has always been heaven for me and i feel very close to god up there and just fell in love.

Oooooooooh now that makes sense. I thought you just picked Maine out of a hat or something! Well good luck with your plans, the charge isn't exactly a huge deal and hopefully the department of your choice can work it's way around it, assuming you've been good since then!

yea, i've been super good. it was a total victim of circumstance situation. i was in a group of about thirty car people hanging out in a parking lot. since the beer was in the car i rode in, i won the prize of getting the charge as well. it's the only thing on my record.

That alone won't be a career killer, even if it delays things a bit. Lot of guys on my department have similar things in their backgrounds (and the rest of us were probably guilty and not caught... uh, but not me, uh, I was a perfect little angel growing up.).
Just keep your head up, and stay out of trouble... things will eventually come together
