Hello, I am Patrick Currey. I have been a K9 Handler for 18 yrs. starting out in the Army, then worked for Leader Dogs for the Blind, and finished my working dog career with U.S. Customs (now CBP) as a narcotics K9 Handler.
In June of 2004 I left to make a dream come true, as I purchased a 73 acre dog training center in Michigan. My first goal was to make the facility more user friendly as there were many eyesores that needed changing. As you all know the LE world changes each fiscial year, so I wanted to focus my first few years establishing a foundation with the civilian market. We mainly work with behavior issues and very proud of the success we are having changing the relationship between dog and owner. www.curreysfamilypetcare.com
During that timeframe I was approached by the University of Michigan Public Safety administrators wanting to turn their K9 program around. Currently I have been working with their handlers during weekly maintinance training and in July 07 we are going to start training two new dogs for their program. By the way, for those who don't know, I introduced Dogboy to LEF.
He is quite a character and I think he'll fit in here really well.
