Hello
Good Morning Everyone,
I would like to say hello and thank everyone who has been supportive of their new member! I graduated from the Intermittent Police Academy in 2006. I am proud of my badge and hold it close to my heart. I work weekend night patrols and details for an Aux.PD, outside of Boston since 2003. I wear my uniform with pride and hope that my presence makes a difference in my city. In addition to that I also have another career that I have been working for 34 yrs during which I received my B.A. from Boston University,Masters and C.A.G.S. from Boston State College now know as the U of Mass Boston and will be retiring in one year but will continuing my work for the police.
My dad was a police detective for 34 yrs and died 3 months after retiring. Both his brothers were police officers as well so you can see it's in my blood-an instinct and feeling only a few can understand. So at my old age I went to the Intermittent Police Academy earning 100% in my exams and now follow my dream.
Glad to meet you all and look forward to making many new friends.

Just because your sign off after you're shift is done, doesn't mean that it's over and put blinders on. You're a cop 24/7 wether you like it or not. If thats something you can't handle, you should find a new line of work!

Hello!
Welcome to LEF!
A Smile
A smile cost nothing, but gives so much.
It enriches those who receive it,without making poorer those who give.It takes but a moment, but the memoryof it sometimes lasts forever.
None is so rich or mighty that hecan get along without it,and none is so poor but thathe can be made rich by it.
A smile creates happiness in the home, fosters goodwill in business, and is the countersign of friendship.
It brings rest to the weary, cheer to the discouraged, sunshine to the sad,and it is nature's best antidote for trouble.
Yet it cannot be bought, begged, borrowed,or stolen, for it is something that is of novalue to anyone until it is given away.
Some people are too tired to give you a smile.Give them one of yours, as none needs a smileso much as he who has no more to give.

Good evening
Welcome
i just recently joined here as well. Or let me rephrase this, can only come to visit here every once in a while.
I admire anyone who can follow a dream, I changed career after 25 years in acute care to Telephone triage her in Manchester NH.
I just spent 1 year as of June 19th, I am now following my dream as well, took a few beatings with a 2 x 4 but I am now in my old age
HAPPY and looking towards a life which is not torn apart by short staffing mandatory overtime and STRESS
Getting off my soap box now
