Greetings from Ohio!
Greetings all,
To keep with good form, my little introduction and greeting.
Really, I’m just ‘Chrystine Q Citizen,’ I’m not now nor ever been in LE., though I have family members who are; two in Corrections and one who is currently a Deputy Sheriff.
In my now rather remote past, I did do some work as a CI for two different Sheriff’s Departments – no, not as any ‘plea agreement’ or because I’d been ‘busted’ myself, but because I could, in knowledge of certain individuals around me at those times who just needed (IMO) to be popped. If anyone should ever have any interest in the details, I’ll be happy to share them – but in short, all were cases involving blatant child endangerment and Controlled Substances, and two of them also including Welfare Fraud.
All were successful and the evidence accumulated sufficient that fortunately, I never even had to testify once – all plead guilty to all charges brought.
Anyway – that’s as close as I've ever come…
Well, I applied once, but was rejected because of my size. Foo! I’m too tiny. It’s just as well, because I honestly don’t believe I’d make a very good cop.
To be more precise, I’d be a Great cop – for both days I’d hold the job. I just don’t see myself able to do all it entails over any lengthier period of time.
So much for what I’m not.
What I am now, is a ‘happy little housewife.’ After University, where I studied and majored in Philosophy with a minor in Psychology, I’ve been devoted to continued studies and writing. My husband has at the end of last year received his Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics (my field is really Theoretical Psychology, so we’re the family of Theorists one might say!
).
I was brought up by my parents, the archetypal Southern Bell mother who is a Saint, and my father, the classic European gentleman.
I was raised to always treat others with respect – (until an individual makes it impossible to hold any more respect for him or her; there is a line!), acutely mindful of human dignity, to respect my elders and – yes – the Police and ‘all’ Officers of the State. &nd I always have…
The truth is, I love cops. I couldn’t even begin to articulate the gratitude I feel as an American for the job you all do and shudder to think where we’d be without you.
So – if I never even Post another thing in this forum – I’d like to say what I most came here to say… Thanks!
I have, in the course of my life met quite a handsome number of LEO’s and can honestly say, I’ve never met one I didn’t like.
Too, I’ve always just been fascinated by LE. I suppose in the ‘most-usual’ ways of a good citizen, and watch anything and everything related I can find on TV. Maybe not the best source, but the most convenient!
..and it’s a fairly endless deluge.
True as it is that I love, am grateful for and am fascinated by all aspects of LE., there is just a special place in my heart for State Troopers.
Are there any here?
I’ve Never met a Trooper I didn’t really like and admire – they’re just such impressive individuals, in so many ways, on so many levels.
Okay – I’ll close my little intro booklet here! Sorry, I really didn’t mean to be so lengthy, but I’m not quite sure whether I’ll even Post again – though I’ll most-probably stay around and read what & when I’m able if that’s all right?
But hey – all you Officers out there (and in here!) – please do keep taking care of yourselves and each other, and Stay Safe!
And again – with eternal reverberation… Thank you!
With best regards and warmest wishes…
Tia Chrystine J. H.

Thanks all…
Hi Pudge_, I’m fairly central – very small ‘New England’ style village about an hour’s drive from Columbus.
Never much ‘excitement’ on the scanner here, which keeps me constantly reminded of Camus’ saying – “Blessed is the village with no history.”

*sigh*
Yeah – haha… I didn’t even catch that until Terminator’s Post.
I’m not sure whether I should feel offended or not, so I’ll choose not.
..I’ll try to …
What I wrote in my intro-Post was all said honestly and in good faith.
Thanks K-9max – and everyone else…"Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster. And when you look into an abyss, the abyss also looks into you."

Here comes Peter Cottontail,
Hoppin' down the bunny trail,
Look at him stop,
and listen to him say:
"Try to do the things you should."
Maybe if you're extra good,
He'll roll lots of Easter eggs your way.
You'll wake up on Easter morning
And you'll know that he was there
When you find those choc'late bunnies
That he's hiding ev'rywhere.
