Back in '82, I was stationed in Naval Station Sand Point, just outside of Seattle. Lots of gray clouds and rain, but beautiful green wilderness and the Cascades were an awesome sight to behold on a clear day. I enjoyed my 13 months there. Im sure its changed and the city must have grown considerably since then.

Wow.. really? That place was like a college campus when I was there. One of the nicest naval bases around. Late 82, early 83 divers found a Corsair underwater in Washington Lake. Lost there in a training mission during WW2. When they brought it up, it was in mint condition, hardly any corrosion from sitting in deep cold freshwater for almost 40 yrs. I had some great times and met some great people there. Thanks for the update. Im gonna have to google earth that place to see what it looks like now. Originally Posted by maclean
