Another "What's Up" from Texas

Looks like a very good website for Officers.
I recently, 6 years ago, retired from a "normal" municipal Police job in Houston, TX and landed what I consider one of the best Law Enforcement jobs around. I also wish I would have known about this office and the things the State Comptroller or Revenue Department can do for regular Police Officers/Investigators. There are only 21 of us, in Texas, as State Police Officers and we investigate any type of Tax Fraud involving businessess. The majority of our time is on 5 major Tax Fraud scenarios.
1) Cigarette and Tobacco Tax-counterfeit cigarettes and transporting cigarettes across state lines.
2) Motor Fuels Tax Fraud, Blending junk and scrap fuel with good fue and dropping it in convenient store tanks; also the dyed-diesel using it "on-road.
3) Coin Operated Machines, 8-liners and other game machines;
4) Motor Vehicle Taxes
5) Sales Tax

Alot to say, never thought I would talk so much...or like my job so much this late in my career. All we work on is Felony cases and there are plenty of them. But, how we help local law enforcement and JTTF's and other agencies is ANY business that sales anything in Texas has to have a SALES Tax Permit with us, which allows us inspections at any time and for anything. We can go into any business and ask for their records WITHOUT a search warrant. Pretty Cool and very few know about us.

Job sounds interesting, if you worked in NY you would have your hands full with just #1 and #5 alone got plenty of bootlegged cigerettes sales going on up here, not to mention avoidance to pay sales tax, whether it be under the table deals or internet purchases.
