Using 4*CR123, and the total length might be 190mm. With the switches you mentioned.

On a weapons light, the head should be small enough it does not touch the weapon, and large enough to throw decent light.

The 1.75 inch head on my M500 is about as big as it needs to be.

I was thinking 1.5 inches max. If u want the light to be able to go on a pistol also it will need to be only 2 batteries max

No weapons light for a pistol is sufficient for rifle duty, to date. I discounted the idea.

The TLR-1 works just fine when you win it from baumshoe

The TLR-1 is an excellent light, I had one briefly.

I'm a big fan of 200 plus lumens on a long gun. I run the older SureFire 500 (without the nav lights.)

I'm thinking of swapping it out for an M900 or a rail interface and SureFire scout.

Maybe this guy can come up with a decent quality light that individual officers can afford to put on long guns
