Hello all . flashlight designer from China
Hi. I am Neoseikan, nice to be here.
I am a flashlight designer. For years, I dreamed of producing best lights in the world. But I found different users have so different demands, so I hope to get advices from you officers.
I joined some other forums, and also hope to join in you too.
Any advice, experience or question about lights will be useful to me.
For example, when I designed a light with the similar size and weight with Surefire M6, I hope to know whether you use M6 often, and how you hold it.
I also like to know your working environments. In a car? under water or in -20F winter? So that I can use the right design.
Thank you all.
Yours, Neoseikan

Welcome
Im looking for a small rechargeable light with a lot of lumens (150+) that I can carry on my belt. Prefer it to have both side and tailcap switches, and its a plus if it has a strobe setting on it too. Oh and it has to be inexspensive. I have a little $50 Chinese flashlight with an SSC P7 LED that's pretty impressive - Does 3 light levels, a fast strobe and slow blink. The LED is rated at 900 Lumens, but it looks more like 300 or 400. I think that LED will only go to 900 Lumens with a 2-cell rechargable using 18650 batteries, but mine only has one cell. Looks like the price has come down slightly:

The one thing I dislike about it is that either the switch or the battery contacts can be unreliable - Sometimes when you change batteries you have to keep messing with it to make contact when the tailcap is tightened all the way up, but once it starts working it keeps working. If y'all improved the reliability of the switch and contacts, I would trust it more.
It's also annoying because when you turn it on, it's never in the same mode that it was when you turn it off - sometimes it's in the next mode, but after it sits for a while it resets back to the 1st mode. As a result, I always have to "hunt" for the brightest setting, which is the one I always use. It needs to stay on that setting unless I want to change it.
I'd also like to use one as a shotgun light, but I'm uncertain whether it will hold up under recoil. They need to be rated for the approximate caliber of gun they can stand up to.

Thank you guys. I am working on for a new product, but I think it's not for officers.
It's a light with 1000+ torch lumens, using 3*18650. 5 brightness levels controlled by a ring.
I am proud to say that it has the highest "regulated" output with highest "regulated" runtime.

What do you think about the ultracapicitor-powered 5.11 flashlight? The 90-second charge time sounds pretty sweet.
It would be neat if they made ultracapicitor replacements for the 18650 batteries, and the flashlights that use them had tailcaps with external charging electrodes for a car charging cradle.

I hope it is what they say it is. I was so excited for it to come out in Feb but that never happened because of capacitor malfunction.
We will see what happens this time aroundSomebody Please, what the hell is that smell?

Batteries I would prefer they take is the 3volt CR-123 batteries. I would prefer a pressure switch (tape type that can be mounted remotely) and a switch on the light itself. Water proof would be nice. I would like to see something that is at least 150 lumens if not more. If it is small enough it needs to be able to attach to a Glock type rail and a Picatinny rail. This would allow the light to be used on multiple weapon platforms. Let me know if you want more ideas.'Political Correctness is a doctrine fostered by a
