I served in the Marine Corp for 4 years as a 8541. I like to shoot 3-gun matches, IPSC and watch the Seattle Seahawks.. So Go Hawks.

You must be a retired (for service or service related disability) or currently employed and fully sworn full-time/part-time/reserve/auxiliary law enforcement officer with full arrest powers, law enforcement authority in your jurisdiction, and have graduated a law enforcement academy for law enforcement officers.


This is based on the research I have done on the federal guidelines of your position. I have much respect to your training and status with your job. We have a similar site in my area and the security officers there are some of the best trained I ever worked with.

Alas, poor Yorick! I knew him, Horatio. He was a member by the moniker sshog8541. A man unlike any other in his quest to be a verified LEO of the most outstanding website known around the world as Officerresource.com. A valiant effort it was too.
Enter the villain. The United States Government. (insert drama music) The gall! The blasphemy! The untold unmitigated chutzpah, yes...chutzpah, it must take to place the word... dare I say it?.... “Security” in front of his beloved term Police. Ohh the horror...I say I may not stand it. My very being is rocked at the mere thought of it.

1. Other Authority. The Act does not provide authority to arrest
   for violations of state criminal statutes or for violations of federal
   criminal statutes other than those listed in paragraph (a) of this

   statutes shall be made by other peace officers (e.g., U.S. Marshals or
   Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agents for federal offenses; LLEA

   The local DOE Office of Chief Counsel, in coordination with contractor
   
   legal counsel, as appropriate, shall provide guidance in this matter.

Then with a heavy heart I reached out to sshog8541. I extended an invitation to remain in our Kingdom without the sacred LEO status and I anxiously awaited his reply.
