Brought over from SSU
Hey all,
I'd like to thank Five-0 and 121 for bringing this site to my attention. My name is David, and I'm living pretty close to Orlando, FL at the moment. Just to give you guys a little background, I graduated from HS a year early and joined the US Navy when I was 17, then went off and operated nuclear reactors on board fast-attack subs for six years. I left at the end of those six years, then started office management for a company that owns and operates boats that supply oil rigs off the Louisiana coast. I managed to refine our office techniques to the point where that was no longer a full time job, so then I opened a trailer sales lot. One thing led to another, and now that lot replaces and refurbishes police cars for smaller departments and there's not a trailer to be found. Funny how things turn out.
I have no LEO background, except that my father was a deputy for many years.
I'm here mostly to get a different take on some of the political discussions taking place on SSU, and will probably lurk more than post
I always enjoy knowing everyone's opinion, regardless of whether I agree with them or not, and I like hearing about issues from the experts. 121's huge post of greatness concerning KSM's trial is one of the biggest reasons I've looked over here. I look forward to some discussions with you guys, and hope I can contribute some to this forum!
Thanks,
David

Good to see you! You'll find that I am nowhere close to being a master of "great walls of greatness." Some things just really fire me up.

If you liked it, check out any of the many rants by one of our supermods, Countybear."If anything worthwhile comes of this tragedy, it should be the realization by every citizen that often the only thing that stands between them and losing everything they hold dear... is the man wearing a badge." -- Ronald Reagan, in the wake of the deaths of 4 CHP troopers in the Newhall Incident, 1970

Hello and welcome aboard from Louisiana.
SI VIS PACEM PARA BELLUM-Ex-Sheriff Martin Howe to Will Kane in "High Noon"
"It's a great life. You risk your skin catching killers and the juries turn them loose so they can come back and shoot at you again. If your honest , your poor your whole life. And , In the end , you wind up dying all alone on some dirty street. For what? For nothing. For a tin star."
Far from being a handicap to command, compassion is the measure of it. For unless one values the lives of his soldiers and is tormented by their ordeals , he is unfit to command.
