    Just saying hello

    Thanks for letting me be a member on this site. Just by looking around the other members seem great. I currently have a application in with Madison county Alabama sheriffs department but the odds are slim but gotta keep trying, lots of applications for a very few slots. Just wanted to say thanks for this site and the information on it. Seems to be a good bit of Alabama people on here.

    I applied with Huntsville P.D. but missed the cut off date for this academy session. I currently live in Dekalb county but in the very near future will be moving to the Huntsville area. As far as i know of there are not any other departments in the area hiring.

    I would not limit myself to departments in the area. Are you willing to move within AL? Have a family? Ect?

    At this time i need to stay fairly close to Huntsville/Madison county area, my wife's family is in that area. Do you know of any other departments in this area that are hiring at all. I have made it through the P.T. test and the written test for Madison county and have been through the oral interview last Thursday but i am up against six certified officers for a very few openings. But i made it from the original 67 applicants to less than 19 as of the day of the oral board.

    I would recommend AST (Troopers). I don't think they require you to move anymore.
