Newcomer!
Hi!
I've just joined this site and wanted to introduce myself
I work in the Specialist Crime Unit at New Scotland Yard as a Communications Officer. We deal with the major crime in London... murders, shootings, kidnappings, contract killings, armed robberies, child abuse, etc... the list is endless.
Not sure what else you'd like to know but I'm sure you'll ask if you want to know more

I'm a civilian but often mistaken for an officer because I know what I'm talking about. lol.
I have the responsibility of telling officers what they should and shouldn't do at scenes, if we will be taking over. It is also one of my jobs is to decide whether Specialist Crime Officers will deal with an incident.

Oh, I'll take advice from a civvie if they have specialist knowledge. But I don't take orders from them.

Warning
Someone just warned me to be careful of you guys... you might get feisty... I told him... they're the ones that need to be careful

I certainly have specialist knowledge in my field but I rarely give orders. I make decisions as to what we (specialist crime unit) will do and they accept it.

As I say, it must be a Met thing. Where I am we (detectives) make the decisions regarding case management.

Hi Honeypot!
Welcome!
A Smile
A smile cost nothing, but gives so much.
It enriches those who receive it,without making poorer those who give.It takes but a moment, but the memoryof it sometimes lasts forever.
None is so rich or mighty that hecan get along without it,and none is so poor but thathe can be made rich by it.
A smile creates happiness in the home, fosters goodwill in business, and is the countersign of friendship.
It brings rest to the weary, cheer to the discouraged, sunshine to the sad,and it is nature's best antidote for trouble.
Yet it cannot be bought, begged, borrowed,or stolen, for it is something that is of novalue to anyone until it is given away.
Some people are too tired to give you a smile.Give them one of yours, as none needs a smileso much as he who has no more to give.

I didn't think Britain had murders anymore... since they got rid of all the guns.
You mean outlawing firearms doesn't stop people from killing each other?

Thank you!
Hi Roses,
Thank you very much!
I was just thinking of leaving as not many people seem to be chatting.
Hope you are well

Murders
Hi Curt,
Murders seem to be increasing... stabbings are the norm (sadly). We have many shooting incidents... thankfully only a very few are fatal... but they are a weekly occurence. Keeps me busy!
