Police Instructor from Ohio
Hello all,
I am a retired officer from Ohio. I tackled a bad guy and shoved my ribs into my spinal cord and now have 4 spinal implants from the Cleveland Clinic. I am fortunate to still train our officers in several of our law enforcement training institutes. I am the author of the book: Police Instructor: Deliver Dynamic Presentations, Create Engaging Slides, & Increase Active Learning. I also write articles for several law enforcement sites.
My son was recently diagnosed with Ewings Sarcoma bone cancer and I have not been active in training or writing for the past 5 months. His treatment will continue for another 4-5 months but I have been able to update our Phalanx Law Enforcement blog as of late. We appreciate all the prayers we can get.

"It's a great life. You risk your skin catching killers and the juries turn them loose so they can come back and shoot at you again. If your honest , your poor your whole life. And , In the end , you wind up dying all alone on some dirty street. For what? For nothing. For a tin star."
Far from being a handicap to command, compassion is the measure of it. For unless one values the lives of his soldiers and is tormented by their ordeals , he is unfit to command.
