Actually with CBP your chances are good, now if you go with border patrol slim to none.

Whats the difference between CBP and Border Patrol?

When you test, do you choose one or the other?

Border Patrol are the guys that are responsible for the border in betwween the ports of entry. CBP Officers are the guys at the ports of entry asking you questions when you arrive back from a forgein country.

Chances for staying in Texas? Not that I freaking care at this point....squad room folks know the story. I'm seriously interested, but my wife is a bit of a pain when relocating is concerned.

Shoot even after a few years 3 or so you can go over seas to a whole shit load of places in almost every country imaginable, and best your housing is all paid for, including schooling for the kiddies, and you get per diem,
