POSITION: LIEUTENANT INVESTIGATIONS

JOB LOCATION: Denton, TX--Sheriff Dept.
MINIMUM SALARY: $1,902.385 Bi-weekly
DUTIES: Performs supervisory and investigative work for the Sheriff's Department. Work involves supervising, assigning and briefing investigators for follow up of complaints and information to develop facts pertinent to criminal investigations. Employee is also responsible for supervision of narcotic investigations, including the development and execution of search and arrest warrants and management of crime scenes. Employee is also responsible for completing periodic reports and performing various personnel related functions such as scheduling work, granting time off, and conducting formal performance appraisals. Work also involves administration of seized and forfeited assets, including preparation of budget proposals for the Investigation and Narcotics Units
QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from high school or a general equivalency diploma (GED), supplemented by specialized course work and 3 to 5 years of experience in responsible criminal investigation work, college degree preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
REQUIREMENTS: Advanced certification as a law enforcement officer and as an instructor by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Education. Possession of a valid Texas driver's license.
