    Other Specific Duties:


    ENFORCES SOUTH CAROLINA LAWS REGULATED BY THE SOUTH CAROLINA HIGHWAY PATROL
    IN AN ASSIGNED AREA OF THE STATE. ALL APPLICANTS TENTATIVELY SELECTED
    FOR THIS POSITION WILL BE REQUIRED TO SUBMIT TO URINALYSIS TO SCREEN FOR
    ILLEGAL DRUG USE PRIOR TO APPOINTMENT.

    State of South Carolina Minimum Training and Experience Requirements:
    (NOTE: ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS MAY BE APPLICABLE FOR INDIVIDUAL POSITIONS IN THE EMPLOYING AGENCY.)


    A high school diploma.

    Additional Requirements:


    HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATE. MUST BE A UNITED STATES CITIZEN. MUST BE AT LEAST
    21 YEARS OF AGE. MUST BE ABLE TO PERFORM ALL OF THE ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
    OF THE LAW ENFORCEMENT DIVISION FOR WHICH YOU ARE APPLYING. VISION
    REQUIREMENT- CANDIDATES WHO WEAR GLASSES OR CONTACTS SHOULD MEET AN
    UNCORRECTED STANDARD OF 20/100 CORRECTED TO 20/20. MUST BE A PROFICIENT
    OPERATOR OF A MOTOR VEHICLE AND POSSESS A VALID SOUTH CAROLINA DRIVER'S
    LICENSE BY HIRE DATE. MAY BE REQUIRED TO RELOCATE AT THE TIME OF EMPLOYMENT
    APPLICANTS MAY INDICATE ON APPLICATION UP TO FIVE COUNTIES IN WHICH THEY
    WOULD LIKE TO LIVE AND WORK IN, IF OFFERED EMPLOYMENT. MUST SUCCESSFULLY
    COMPLETE THE HIGHWAY PATROL TRAINING SCHOOL (20 WEEKS) AFTER HIRE DATE.
    APPLICANTS WITH BASIC LAW ENFORCEMENT CERTIFICATION IN SOUTH CAROLINA MUST
    SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETE 13 WEEKS OF PATROL SCHOOL AFTER HIRE DATE. YOU DO
    NOT HAVE TO BE A SOUTH CAROLINA RESIDENT TO APPLY FOR THIS POSITION.
