Expected hire of 200-300 new Troopers over next 2 years. WSP is losing 5 to 6 Troopers a month due to retirements, and laterals out. Retirement is portable with other Wash State retirement plans, such as LEOFF2 and PERS. 25 year retirement under the WSP plan.

Experienced officers have an advantage as well as prior military. WSP requires Trooper recruits complete the full academy. The next class is set for this year.
Testing schedules will flex for out of state applicants.
