I'm doing the freebie apartment gig right now in TX. I would love to do it somewhere when our lease is up. The drive from door to door is 67 miles one way. Time to pick up a motorcycle or a CRX-HF, or some shit. My truck is gonna get old really quick.
I just got another email. Poly and psych are on 8/17 and 8/18 then comes the offer. I need to shop for a plane ticket!
I need more money!

Congrats
In law enforcement, the customer is ALWAYS wrong.
In God we trust. Everyone else is run through NCIC.
Sometimes there is justice. Sometimes there is just us.
I'd rather be tried by 12 then carried by 6.

So, I'm sitting in the middle of Sky Harbor Airport in Phoenix, on a lay over. Lol, I check my email on my laptop and try and go to Glocktalk and ARFcom...
Blocked by Enterprise bullshit... weapon related sites not authorized.
Sigh.
Here I am
Anyway, I have an oral board with the city council today at 1630. I got another call while I was in the air. Lieutenant scheduled me for poly, psych and a medical exam in the next two days.
Things are looking good.
Wish me luck. I just ate airport sausage.

Just to add my $0.02...
Denver is hiring like crazy (have been for the past couple of years, don't know how long it will continue). The pay is good, and the place is busy (if you're into that). All the "blue flu" and bad morale talk about the dept. seems overblown to me... I think the officers complain like people do anywhere, not really any more or less.
Ft Collins is a great town, but it seems like the PD there is hard to get on with. Larimer county might be easier to get on with if you want to live up that way.
Last I heard (while ago) CO Spgs was hiring a bunch of folks as well, but I live a ways from there and haven't heard much recently about how things are that direction.

Tomorrow is the poly.
Department Commander made me a conditional offer after the council oral board.
I'll get a final offer from the chief and negotiate $ sometime Friday after the poly, hopefully.
121, I will ride out asap. I've been told they want me to start as soon as 9-5-06...

I was officially hired at 1500 hours, MST. I report for duty 9-5-06 at 0800. I will be issuing my current department 2 weeks notice Monday before I begin my midnight shift.. Will probably move the weekend of Sept 1-2.
I'm baaaaaaack.
A huge thanks to Garco Deputy for starting this thread and CO_Cop (Pat) for introducing me to a buddy of his.

I also got to purchase a new glock 34 which will be sporting TFO tridium/fiber optic sights and a Streamlight TLR-1 in a nice safariland 6285. It is a tack driver.
