We are hiring, kind of an on going process, and we are a very fast growing county, and will be hiring more in the future as well.

Aiken County is in the list of one of the top 10 places in the USA to retire and live.

Usually we have 14 deputies on each shift (street deputies), but needing to fill the slots where we are at full man power.

As you can tell from the web site, we have a lot of "speciality" jobs as well, but they like you to work the street before going into the other "specilized" fields, unless you have a lot of college, say for forensics etc.........but they like to promote from within whenever possible.

I don't have anything to do with hiring, just saw this and wanted to let ya'll know we need more deputies.....also have a couple dispatcher jobs open as well.

They say you have to work the jail first, but how it has been going is you work in the jail until your academy date and after certification then you come to the street.

wife is tired of memphis. any way to skip jail. how do they treat laterials. how is the pay.

Only one department pays more than us in the county....and you have to work fire and police at that one.

The Criminal Justice Academy is who decides how much of the academy you have to go to from another state.......I know some of the states only have to do the legal update...some they may have you do the driving and shooting as well....and some.....you go the full time.
