NC was at one time doing the same thing. I dont know if they stopped it or not, or if they ever paid back what they took with interest. Hard to believe they can raid our funds, but they dont touch their own.

In Mississippi the state employees banded together and had a constutional amendment placed on the general election ballot back in the 70's. It stated that the legislature could not touch the retirement fund for any reason. Once the public information campaign got rolling it passed by a good majority and it is still in place.
I have heard them say more than once they sure could use that money to balance the budget, but no way hosea.
