Marine Corps Silent Drill Platoon

I went to a prestigious military academy for high school. I was on the Honor Guard (silent exhibition drill platoon) and the Regimental Drill Team. I was one of the members that performed the mirror rifle inspection at our performances, both at the school and when we traveled. We aspired to the quality of the USMC Silent Drill Platoon, but we always knew that was next to impossible as our practice time was limited to about 1.5 hours a day, after classes, formations, parades, sports, etc. I'll admit, we blatantly stole some of their coolest parts (hell, they're ALL cool), but man...when I watch these vids, I realize how we didn't even compare. These guys are unbelievable, and it makes my heart race and ache at the same time to watch them. It's an ache that characterizes my respect for the American military, and all they do for us. Thanks for your service, guys.

I watched a bit of the fist one, awesome stuff.
Those guys would make great drummers cause of their internal time-keeping ability:biggrin1:
Props to the Marines

Those guys are amazing. Those performances were flawless! I was in my High School's drumline all 4 years and I can tell you that the marching alone is underrated. Add all those rifle movements and you've got some difficult stuff! I'm very impressed, go Marines!

When I was in High School I was on our Marine Corps JROTC unit. Spent four years on our Silent Exhibition Drill team unit, and on my senior year, I was the second in command of the unit, later promoted to Commanding Officer. One event we performed at, the USMC Silent Drill team was there and gave a performance which was AWESOME to watch. Then they turned around and judged us on our Drill Sequence. It was humbling as hell, and fucking awesome at the same time. Plus, they liked it. :D

I'm more of a drum and bugle corp fan myself, but I admire precision they share.

On our team we did that exact same manuever. We called it the Meat Grinder. There's actually more margin for error than you think, BUT, I did see someone fuck it up. It was ugly. :D
