Much like the hard stops carried out up here.
We normally do the rolling closure behind such stops to create a margin of safety.
Hey trojan it was interesting to see how he was very quick to ask for "Motorway" officers, see you all need us really when you come to play on our bit of road!the sole advantage of power is that you can do more good.

And no you can't have any.

That's not a Hard Stop! That's a girly ARV Stop. A Hard Stop is smashing all the windows, shooting out the tyres and maybe lobbing a few flash/bangs about, before beating the suspects into submission. And of course he asked for Motorway Officers. Someones got to direct traffic while real police do their thing.

And I think of how many times I have responded to a "armed suspect" call solo.
And Shepards we shall be,
for thee, My Lord, for thee,
Power hath descended forth from Thy hand,
That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy Command.
So we shall flow a river forth to Thee
And teeming with souls will it ever be.

My department has a "Humber-Peg." As I understand, it was used in Northern Ireland a few years back. When it came, it was completely refurbished and repainted with the department logo.
For the morning will come. Brightly will it shine on the brave and true, kindly upon all who suffer for the cause, glorious upon the tombs of heroes. Thus will shine the dawn.
