Thanks for that Bird1.
Its nice to know someone appreciates us.
Unfortunately the vocal minority seem to be the only ones to get air time here.
There are many agendas within these conflicts but what is never in doubt is the bravery of our armed forces.the sole advantage of power is that you can do more good.

ANZAC day is coming up and yet again I will be one of a very few that still sing God save the Queen after the Aussie Anthem.

Nice find, Bird1. The first music by Joseph Kilna McKenzie is ever haunting.
I wasn't familiar with the artist and found its "In memory of Sgt. Charles Stuart MacKenzie" In looking further I found Charles was his great grandfather who died in WWI.
The internet is good for factual tidbits, but not for culture. Beg pardon, but if I may so rudely interrupt as I so often do, would one be willing to to take pity on a hapless colonialist who doesn't understand the background of "God Save the Queen"?

"God Save the Queen", the tune played once in a greeting of President Reagan on a trip to England, to which he commented, "That's the greatest rendition of 'My Country 'tis of Thee' I've ever heard."
"The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public's money."

Of thy chaste breast and quiet mind
To war and arms I fly. - Lovelace

That's because he's nearly as stupid as GW!
