Not so bad for the kid, but what the video doesn't show is mom being rushed to the ER with an arrow sticking out of her leg.
Never really understood the purpose - I just wiggled mine free. Best was when you could get a tooth half unseated, then show it off the rest of the day as you stuck it out perpendicular.
