Police Community Support Officers are a uniformed patrol officer who have little or no powers and only a few weeks training here is a member of the public having a rant about them.

There is no point, its all political clap trap(polite version for public forum)I appreciate police officers are a little more expensive in the scheme of things, but it would still be more worthwile to hire full time officers with full powers.
It is the sme with the HATO's on the motorway.
If they had spent that money on police officers and equipment the return to the public would be far greater.
Somebody somewhere has no doubt hived off a great little job with a great big pay cheque as a result, and you can bet that person is a politician or one of his cronies.
My contribution to the rant.the sole advantage of power is that you can do more good.

I think it's a worthwhile and sensible approach to policing. Did I mention that my wife is filling out an Application pack? She quite fancies window shopping and swanning around a bit. (and I am serious, she is. )
