No go ...
I can’t get it to open either. More precisely, it seems my browser can’t even find the DNS.
All I get is the following message Page after hanging about 45 seconds.

Odd that the website it not directly tied to the KCSO master/home page.
Okay, I'll bite. King County will piss dollars for two major sports venues but they cannot buy new generation air beaters for regional work? It isn't cheap keeping surplus birds in the air.

Morris.....the birds came with so many spare parts (engines/transmissions/rotors/etc) that the damn things should run forever. Most of the engines had zero time on them. We had a guy who was plugged into the military surplus network like a leech and he was there when the 10th Mountain went to Blackhawks and shed all the old stuff.
Also we have an agreement with the aviation school at South Seattle Community College....they do all our painting and airframe stuff for free.
We also got a new Bell 206 in the past month or so. I havn't seen that one but I guess it's cool.

Well that's good to read. Still burns me that KC will piss away money on bogus payroll software but cry and moan about getting more tools in the hands of the deputies.

Hey, I have often said that the ONLY good thing about King County was the Sherifff's Office and I know there are differeing opinions there too.

Pdawg....I got to fly one of those little Hughes birds when I was in L.A. County/ They are great helicopters and very quick and
agile. Like them a lot. Lots of serious law enforcement going in socal via the air units.

Our air support rocks! SDPD has great support too, and both teams work hard to cover the whole county.
I don't know how other agencies work, but SDSO trains deputies to be pilots, so they are very pro-active when it comes to patrol work.
I've had them land to make traffic stops - I would have loved to see the look on the face of the person they stopped!
