The infamous DEA Empty Glock Video
Just in case you've never seen it.

Yeah. DEA. He did 'em proud that day.
And what on earth was up with that hair? Was he a UC? If he was UC, why was giving lectures to the public?"If everyone is thinking alike, then someone isn't thinking." -Gen. George S. Patton

I'd suspect that he locked the slide to the rear, collected the round, and then let the slide come forward.
Of course, if you do that with a loaded magazine in the gun, you'll chamber a round. And then, when you pull the trigger, the gun'll go BANG!
I'm curious about what he was doing as he steps off to the side for a moment. It looks kind of like he was having someone check the gun...
But he was still wrong! What's the very first rule of firearm safety? TREAT ALL WEAPONS AS IF THEY ARE LOADED.

What happened to point the muzzle in a safe direction? I guess your leg isn't safe direction.

If he was going into that room to do a presentation with his duty weapon it should have had an empty magazine in it or no magazine in it. Loaded mags should be in belt pouches and stay there until after you leave. he also should have had a kevlar safe pad to dryfire into "just in case" But it's too late now the horse is out of the barn.

Last I heard, he was suing the DEA for that video being leaked and ruining his reputation or something, anybody know the outcome?

oh i found that funnyhttp://www.allpoetry.com/Grunts%20Girl
We dallied under
Vine maples and sapling alders
Searched for lady slippers
But instead
Found blackberry riots and
Desiccated branches
An old skid road
Brought ghost ferns and
Hollows filled with
Skunk cabbage
While waves wrapped
Intricate lacings of weeds
'Round mule spinners
His cyanotic eyes
Were hard enough to make
The sun turn tail and
Tender enough to attract me
To his world of illusion

12-12-07, 06:47 AM #12I thought when he did that he was removing the mag and making the weapon safe!BUT,as stated,it should have been that way before entering the schoolI'm curious about what he was doing as he steps off to the side for a moment. It looks kind of like he was having someone check the gun...

watch it again. He racks out the chambered round, THEN pulls the mag.
Back to the range for him.

I heard the same thing. Something about the videotape compromising his ability to work as a UC? I know the video really screwed up his undercover status and not the room full of people and the t-shirt with DEA in two foot tall letters in bright yellow. That probably didn't lead anybody to believe that he was a federal agent. What a shmuck!!
