Because I attended a military academy in HS, I have a soft spot about academy drama of any type. My experiences weren't as harsh as most movies portray, but I can definitely relate to a lot of themes.
Taps was a fantastic movie that really hit home. So many good scenes, but I can't find specific ones on Youtube. The trailer will have to do.

And Lords of Discipline is my favorite book ever. The movie was just okay, but I loved this scene, taken directly from the book. The Commandant's son has died during service, and he makes the announcement during the "ringing" ceremony. I went through almost an identical ringing ceremony/dinner. The academy seniors/1st classmen go to his residence to show solidarity with him and his deceased son, who was a recent grad. Dixie is the unofficial school song of the Carolina Military Academy (a faux Citadel).
