You know my theory from our chats on the phone. Even as a hardcore Blackberry guy, I'm really starting to love the Droids from what I'm seeing. Blackberry really has to step up to be able to stay up on things, and frankly I don't think they will.

The Verizon service was not good enough here to support the purchase of a Droid type phone so all but one of my sons and my wife all jumped on the iPhone wagon. AT&T service has incomplete calls and you need to redial a lot. Other than that I like the 3G service and can get it in most of the areas I patrol and of course in the city. AT&T, unfortunately has the best coverage area here so for the best bang for the buck I'm staying with what I have.
As far as the phone is concerned I love it. My whole life is in that phone and it has yet to let me down. I use all the aspects of the phone and have a ton of free apps on it. I've wrapped it in an Otterbox and have dropped it several times with no problems.
I can't say anything positive or negative about the Droid phones since I haven't even touched one. However the other folks that have them here are raving about them. Your choice may very well depend on your service and the best coverage and price you can get. I can say that if you choose the iPhone, current or the soon to be released version I doubt you will be disappointed.
Just for the sake of adding more info here is a news release from AT&T.

If you want a physical keyboard get the Droid. If not get the Incredible according to the Droid Forums. I love the Droid. After June 7th, no more unlimited Data with AT&T. Don't forget to ask about your govenment agency discount either way.

Sorry for Lew's geograpical shortcomings, but if don't get a Droid I will personally consider you the biggest Vag I know. Some of my biggest reasons why to get a Droid:
1. Voice to text, period.
2. More free apps
3. Maclean, Xiphos, and I have them and Pudge isn't far behind.
4. I can take you off my friends and family list since a Verison call is free anyway.
5. Flash will be availabe with the next Android OS update.

I got a Droid on the day that they came out. They are ok, battery life isn't too great though. I've not used the voice to text feature. I despise having to hit ALT before a number key when sending a message with numbers using the physical keypad.
Of course, you can use 2 hands and hold the ALT key down while typing a series of numbers.

We talked on the phone, so far not a lot to add that hasn't been pointed out by Five-0.
Xiphos should weigh in too....
I'm thinking the Android OS phones are only going to get a LOT better with every upgrade to the OS, and they started out of the gate by smoking the iPhone.
Now of course, iPhone is about to see an upgrade, but the upgrade seems to be a "catch up" to Droid.

He says he will only need one. My wife can't put her's down either, and Droids are buy one get one free. That more than makes up for anything the Incredible can do over it.

Unless I get a promotional flier in the near future (entirely possible), I won't be eligible until August or September for my upgrade. I have a feeling that once my wife plays with one she'll be jumping from her berry too. The timing may just work out that the Incredible will be offered as a BOGO or the Xtreme or Shadow will be out by then. I'm kinda pumped.

lol. That's how I got my wife and I's BB Tours last September. I'm lucky enough to have a friend who works in the VZW store. After her manager turned down approving me a month early, she leaned over and whispered to go outside, call customer service, tell them I wanted to pick it up at my local corporate store, grab lunch, and come back and get our new devices.
Worked like a charm. I'll hold off for a bit unless an issue comes up with one of our BB's. It'll give time to see what's coming or for a better deal."Like" us on facebook! https://www.facebook.com/pages/Offic...93147194083228

We talked on the phone and I expounded on Android's virtues. Right now the Incredible is the way to go. In the near future though, keep your eye out for the Scorpion. Supposedly 1.5 ghz plus some other goodies and rumor has it will be a Verizon phone.

I love my iPhone. After reading this thread, it sounds to me like if you purchase a Droid, you automatically transform into a giant tech nerd, saying stuff like "gigabyte this, robot that, bleep bleep blorp." Just food for thought.
