Read the books also.
At first the series made me cringe...the acting was horrible and it was like a bad case of vampire porn
But I got hooked even though it was not quite like the books...and I am awaiting for the second season to come out on video. A sad state of social affairs has caused me to become hooked. LMAO

I haven't read the books yet, but will get around to it some day. I thought it was so hokey at first, but season 3 starts tonight and I'm on pins and needles. hehehe To say I'm hooked is an understatement.

If you read the books..the series will change for you lol. The books are excellent...really actually quite funny. Used to have the whole series til I moved out here...gave my library to a friend.

I *really* need to read the books one of these days... And it looks like Season 2 is out on DVD now (it's at least available at HBO...).

wifey just got me started on season 1 - I needed a new addiction to watch
and it's quite entertaining (a good word for it) - and she's on season 2 - she tries hard not to spoil anything in season 1 for me
