I HATE FROYO
My phone has been so buggy since the update, what a craptastic update it was

I know this is late... Any update on this? Has it evened out and started working better?
If you are still having trouble, do a factory wipe/reset and then reinstall your apps. Pain in the ass but I've read where there have been problems during upgrades with the existing apps. That which does not kill me, better start fucking running.

I just did that and it is all better. I was also told that about every month to dial *228, hit the speaker button and then press 1. This programs any fixes and updates to the phone. I had never heard of this until I was walked through the factory reset after I could not send text messages for a bit. I now have a monthly reminder set for the first of each month. Oh, make sure you have a good 3G signal when you do this.

If Verizon folks told you to do that, terrific. It is a good idea then. I'm only warning folks on different carriers that code could cause them problems. Or do nothing. But I'm not going to find out.

That is indeed the online programming code for Verizon.
If you choose the other option, you update your roaming profile and get the newest tower list.I'm your huckleberry...

It updates your phone with the newest tower and roaming information.
From Verizon:
Verizon Wireless is constantly advancing its roaming technology to provide you with superior roaming capabilities. By updating your PRL every few weeks, you can be sure you have access to our enhancements. As a result you may experience:
- Longer battery life
- Fewer dropped or blocked calls
- Clear, crisp connections in more areas across the United States
- Ability to connect to the digital network in more parts of the country
