The Office
So, to all of my fellow faithful followers of The Office......
Who's gonna replace Michael?

Will Ferrell
or
Ricky Gervais
I'd be perfectly content with either of them. The views expressed in the above post are the sole opinion of the author and do not reflect any official position by the author's employer and/or municipality.

Stephen Root would be my pick, reprising his role in News Radio. Then again I could see that being a complete train wreck.

So neither of you believe it's going to be someone already on the show???

I'd love to see Ricky Gervais take that spot.
I think that a great twist would be someone like Creed taking Michael's place as the boss.
I hate that Steve Carell is leaving, it's really going to change the show.

I don't. Jim has already shown he can't be an effective manager. He seems to be smart and a great employee, but the staff doesn't respect him. Also, being married to Pam will prevent him from doing so unless she leaves. I don't think Corporate likes or trusts Dwight at all, so he won't get the nod. Andy hasn't done enough to stand out from the others and make Corporate take notice of him. I also don't think that Darryl's personality would be a good fit as the branch manager, from a writer's point-of-view.

Creed's character has enough background it could work. His supporting role could easily be replaced too. I like this concept.

Kelly went to junior executive training. Thoughts?
And I was watching a repeat episode, shortly after Daryl was brought to the office from the warehouse. He told Jim "I've got big plans for this office." That episode aired after the writers knew Steve Carell was leaving. Makes me lean towards him taking the position....BUT...I agree that his character doesn't really fit the role.No one has greater love than this, to lay down ones life for ones friends - John 15:13

So I'm woefully behind on the new ones. The most recent I've seen is the one where Michael proposes and says he's leaving. That's the last one aired right?
My vote is for Ricky Gervais. The cameo was awesome!"If anything worthwhile comes of this tragedy, it should be the realization by every citizen that often the only thing that stands between them and losing everything they hold dear... is the man wearing a badge." -- Ronald Reagan, in the wake of the deaths of 4 CHP troopers in the Newhall Incident, 1970

It would be pretty funny if Kelly became the manager.
One thing I'm going to miss is the interaction between Michael and Toby.

I also heard that Will Ferrell's guest appearances are GUEST appearances...with an emphasis on "guest." But in a preview I saw, he was talking about being the new boss in the office. So I don't know what to think.

If you're up to date on the show, what do you think so far?
I can't wait to see the last episode of the season!

It's better with Will Ferrell gone. And Dwight's episode as manager was actually pretty funny. They haven't lost me as a fan....yet.

So, did anyone watch the first episode of the new season last night? I watched it and thought that some of it was very funny but it wasn't as good as I expected it to be....perhaps my expectations were too high.
