What is your favorite non-bigtime movie? e.g.: Stay Tuned, Spaceballs, Spun...
Stay Tuned (with John Ritter) is one of my favorites, along with the Salton Sea with Val Kilmer. Blazing Saddles and Robin Hood Men in Tights are two others.

'Stay Tuned' is fun a classic. Though with John Ritter movies in mind one has to give attention to 'Skin Deep'. Has there ever been a better glowing condom fight?
Didn't see 'Salton Sea', but I liked Val in 'The Saint'. Of course 'Real Genius' was the best film he was even in.
Spaghetti Westerns - My Name Is Nobody / Trinity - They Call Me Trinity / Trinity is Still My Name
Also Kentucky Fried Movie.
'Kalifornia'- Brad Pitt & Juliette Lewis (serial killer flick)
'Clay Pigeons'---a relatively unknown Vince Vaughn/ Joaquin Phoenix flick.
"...& my name aint Cowboy."
Escanaba in da Moonlight is the first movie that popped in my head.
Great movie!
I'm sure yooperwarden knows what I'm talking about.
Spartan (Val Kilmer), Weird Science, Red, The 5th Element, Fargo
Strange Brew. Lone Wolf Mcquade.
"Fargo," "Raising Arizona," "Spinal Tap," "The Decalogue (although technically it was a tv series)," "Hollywood Shuffle," and "Once Upon a Time in America" are a few.
Fear of the black hat. Porkys
In Salton Sea, Val Kilmer's wife is killed in a home invasion and he becomes a meth addict to find the killers. Can't tell much more without ruining the movie, but it was really good. I just happened to catch it on HBO one night at the pct. Didn't have time to watch all of it at the time, so I found out what it was and caught it the next time it came on.
You've got to be kiddin me, I've tried to watch it twice now and can't even make it half way through. Although it does have my favorite line from a movie "during deer season, the DNR's like God"
And yes I do actually work out of the Escanaba Field Office. Holy Wa, EH!
There are a lot of good ones that weren't "blockbusters". I loved "The Stand" (though it was actually a miniseries), "Beer Fest", "The 5th Element"...
5th Element, definitely. PGG, I hadn't thought of Strange Brew in years. Most anything by Mel Brooks including Blazing Saddles, Robin Hood: Men in Tights, Dracula: Dead and Loving It, and Spaceballs. The Monty Python movies. Loved both The Saint and Real Genius. Serenity. Evolution (David Ducovny). Wagons East (John Candy). Ever After. Labyrinth. The Dark Crystal. V for Vendetta.
There will be more later.
Three Amigos
Maverick
Tombstone
The Goonies
I totally forgot about the Three Amigos!! I love that movie! "Would you say I have a plethora of gifts?"
Fargo is good.
Evil Dead trilogy comes to mind also
Fargo is a blockbuster I don't care what anyone says!!! Great movie!
And yooper...I have a hard time believe the UP isn't EXACTLY like Escanaba in Da Moonlight says it is.
Just like all of us in MN talk just like they do in "Fargo." :D
For the record....we don't.
