how have I totally missed seeing this show until now?!?!?! We're only 4 episodes in on season 1, but it's pretty fantastic...easily the best cop show I've ever seen.

Why does HBO kill the good shows?! Deadwood (while not a cop show) was great while it lasted.

I didn't have the premium channels, but someone from here recommended The Wire so I bought the first season on DVD. After the first episode I was hooked. I ended up buying the entire series on DVD, and I was very disappointed when the show was cancelled. It is easily one of the best cop shows!
