iPhone LE app question
Before you start in, I'm an Android fan! My personal phone right now is the Moto Razr and I'm completely satisfied.
That being said, I'm among the folks at my agency issued an iPhone and iPad for work use. The personal stays in the patrol car, and the iPhone goes on my belt since we have unlimited minutes and data, etc. I use the iPad a lot at work for maps, codes, etc and it rides in my duty bag.
I am subpoena-heavy...I receive at least three subs for every jailed arrest I make on state charges. We automatically receive subs for Prelim Hearing, Motions, and Jury Trial. It's not uncommon to receive 8 or 9 at a time on bad days.
Right now, I enter the sub info manually into my Cloud Calendar so it syncs to my work iPhone and my work iPad. I'm interested in seeing if anyone knows of an app that I could snap a photo of the sub and have it automatically fill in my calendar with the info from the subs. Similar to a business card reader, but customizable so I can choose which fields to fill. Anyone? I really want it for the iPhone, but would settle for the Droid equivalent. First off, I'm so sorry your agency gives you such terrible equipment.
Let me poke around some of the Android forums and see if there's anything that might work. That which does not kill me, better start fucking running.

See if you can talk you court into figuring out a way to print 2D barcodes (QR Codes) on those subpoenas. Especially with the prevalence of smart phones, I'll bet it wouldn't be tough. That's a pretty universal way of being able to scan that stuff.

Someone else asking the same question, but no answer yet.
I need to scan appointment cards and have the appointments automatically entered into the calendar. Does this do that? - Apple Store (U.S.)That which does not kill me, better start fucking running.
