Police chief criticizes Kanye West for saying that performing on rotating platforms is as dangerous as police or military workPolice Chief David Oliver, of Brimfield, Ohio, has sparked a war of words with Kanye West over his recent remarks that he is “putting my life at risk, literally” during his concerts. The small-town cop slammed the “Through the Wire” rapper in an open letter on department’s Facebook page — telling West to quit rapping and sign up for the military if he wants to know what it’s like to be in the line of fire.“When the Taliban starts shooting at you, perhaps you could stand up and let the words flow,” he said in the sarcastic-heavy post. “It could be something like ‘I’m Kanye West, wearing a flak vest.’ I’m sure they would just drop weapons and surrender. You could quite possibly end all wars, just from the enemy being star-struck.”The “Yeezus” performer mused about how his 27-song concerts with rotating platforms was akin to being a cop or a soldier.
"I'm just giving of my body on the stage and putting my life at risk, literally," West said. “And if I slipped … You never know. And I think about it. I think about my family and I'm like ‘Wow, this is like being a police officer or something, in war or something.’”

"It's a great life. You risk your skin catching killers and the juries turn them loose so they can come back and shoot at you again. If your honest , your poor your whole life. And , In the end , you wind up dying all alone on some dirty street. For what? For nothing. For a tin star."
Far from being a handicap to command, compassion is the measure of it. For unless one values the lives of his soldiers and is tormented by their ordeals , he is unfit to command.
