Two jailers fired for forcing inmate to run around naked for a cherry pie
ADRIAN, Mich. Two Lenawee County Jail officers have been fired after authorities say they urged an inmate to run around his cellblock naked in exchange for a piece of cherry pie.
Sheriff Larry Richardson says the firing of the officers was recommended by the county's labor attorney. Richardson says he learned of the August incident in a letter from another inmate.
The names of the two officers were not released.
Richardson says the officers considered it a prank. An investigation found that the male inmate who was urged to strip told the officers he was willing to streak for the piece of pie.
Union officials have challenge the firings, saying the punishment was too severe.
